History

Advanced Software Designs (ASD) was founded in 1985 to provide software solutions for the batch, formula-based process industries.  ASD's first customer, Carboline Company, needed a solution to automate the creation of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and product labels.  This was quite a challenge at a time when the IBM AT was the fastest PC available.   Over the years, the original software has gone through numerous revisions to keep pace with changing customer requirements and advancements in computer technology.  ASD still provides formula management and regulatory compliance software, along with critical product development features such as approval workflow capabilities and audit tracking.  Since it’s founding, ASD has gained experience at over 500 process manufacturing companies.  Our broad experience is reflected in the design and features of our products.  For 20 years, our focus has remained the same - to create the finest product development software available for process manufacturers. And Carboline (now a division of RPM) is a customer again, utilizing our latest ProductVision Product Development Software.

Markets

ASD provides software solutions to leading companies in several of the process industries, including Food and Beverages, Paint, Ink, Chemicals, and Personal Care Products.  The ProductVision system is tailored specifically for the unique requirements of each industry that we serve.  For example, the Food and Beverages industry needs to be able to rapidly produce accurate, correctly formatted nutrition facts labels and ingredient declarations.  This functionality is provided by the ProductVision Nutrition Labeling Module.  Likewise, customers in the Paint, Ink, and Chemical markets need the ability to create MSDSs for their products.  The ProductVision Regulatory Compliance and EU Regulatory Modules simplify this task.

Mission

ASD will be the recognized global market leader for Product Development software for formula-based batch process manufacturing companies.  We will accomplish this goal through development of imaginative state-of-the-art software.  Our goal is that 100% of our customers will be enthusiastic ASD references.
