St. Louis, Missouri -- April
17, 2001:
Advanced
Software Designs, the leading developer and supplier of Formula
Management and Regulatory Compliance Software to the mid- and
upper-tier process manufacturing market, today announced a major new
agreement with Johnson Polymers to license its flagship software,
ProductVision®
Product Development System.
Wisconsin-based Johnson Polymer, part of the SCJohnson family of
privately owned companies and a leading global supplier of
environmentally compliant polymers for the printing and packaging,
coating, and adhesive industries, has chosen the ProductVision Product
Development System by Advanced Software Designs to aid in their
regulatory compliance efforts worldwide. They have licensed
ProductVision Formula Management (FM), Regulatory Compliance (RC),
European Regulatory Compliance (EU), Ariel® Interface (AI), Approval
Routing (AR), and Auditing Modules (AU).
Johnson Polymer purchased the
ProductVision formula management modules last year for their
development group. They will be using the formula management
module and implementing the fully integrated regulatory compliance
modules throughout the entire organization.
“Advanced Software Designs provided us with a solution that
allows us real flexibility in our regulatory compliance area. An
internal team was set up to review potential software solutions.
We chose ProductVision because it incorporated all of the regulatory
compliance features we needed while allowing us to build on the power
of the existing formula management module already in place,” said
Lisa Barrientez, Product Compliance Manager, Worldwide Regulatory
Affairs for Johnson Polymer.
Completely flexible, user-definable, multi-language
MSDS formats was another requirement because Johnson Polymer’s
products are manufactured and shipped globally. Johnson Polymer also
wanted the system to include specific statements on an MSDS based on
regulatory and toxicological test results. The newly developed
ProductVision RC rules logic allows the user to easily define under
what specific conditions certain statements will be included.
“Using ProductVision, MSDS generation is always based
on the most current formulation information because there is a single
formula database. This
was a critical issue for Johnson Polymer. Other regulatory compliance
solutions required that the formula information either be re-entered
or imported from another system,” Barrientez continued.
Johnson Polymer joins
an extensive list of manufacturing companies
that utilize the ProductVision Product Development System.
