ProductVision Regulatory Compliance (RC)
Module integrates seamlessly with the ProductVision
Formula Management (FM) Module to
greatly simplify compliance with hazardous communication regulations. The
RC Module
automatically generates raw material driven Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and
product labels, which meet or exceed reporting regulations worldwide.
ProductVision quickly calculates the correct
classification of complex mixtures and indicates the proper symbols and
Risk and Safety Phrases according to the European Directive on Dangerous
Preparations. It also tracks
customer MSDS mailings, and produces SARA Tier I/II and Section 313 reports necessary for
U.S. customers. Input of required resource information is simplified by using our
integration to the Ariel RegAID
database. Documents are produced in HTML
(web page) or Adobe PDF format, greatly simplifying distribution both
internally and externally, especially in combination with the
ProductVision
Regulatory Distribution Module.
Unlimited Document Flexibility and User
Control
ProductVision
RC allows you to create multi-language and multi-format MSDSs and labels.
For example, you may specify creation of a U.S. ANSI (16 section) MSDS in English, a
Canadian WHMIS format in French, and a Swiss ANSI format in German all for the same
product. Or you may want to create customer specific formats, such as those required by
the automobile industry. Each format may have its own structure and sets of statement
text. ProductVision's visual MSDS and label creation routines make compliance with
differing regulations and customer requirements almost effortless.
And to further
extend the flexibility of the system, all hazard text and product properties are
user-definable. That is, you may add new input (or calculated) fields for printing on the
MSDS or label in seconds. The New Jersey and Pennsylvania "right-to-know" laws,
California Proposition 65, Canadian DSL reporting, and air pollution reporting (VOCs and
photochemical reactivity) are just some examples of the type of information that
RC can
report. The final MSDS is produced using an HTML document template, which you may
customize as necessary.
Customizable MSDS and Label Presentation
You
may customize the standard MSDS/label templates provided with RC. Using a
standard HTML editor you have complete word processing capabilities, including the
capability to incorporate graphic images like a corporate logo or product photo. Shading,
boxes or other elements are easily added to highlight important information. The resulting
documents are both functional and attractive to present the right image for your company.

Developed Exclusively for Process
Manufacturers
ProductVision
Regulatory Compliance Module was designed specifically for the special needs
of formula-based process manufacturers. MSDSs are automatically created based upon raw
material and formula properties. Whenever a formula is revised, ProductVision flags the
associated MSDS for regeneration and determines whether a new MSDS revision is required.
Any differences between MSDS revisions are reported to the user. All MSDS revisions are
immediately logged. RC also easily handles creation of MSDSs for
products, which undergo chemical reactions and/or have co-products or by-products.
SARA Reporting Capabilities
RC
simplifies regulatory reporting by generating worksheets for use in completing SARA Tier
I/II Forms. RC also provides a SARA Section 313 Chemical List Report and
a Chemical Where-Used Report.
Simplify
Resource Data Input Using Our Ariel RegAID Database Option
The ProductVision Ariel Interface (AI) Module allows you to tailor the lists that you want to
use for extraction as well as which lists that you want to view. The “Ariel” tab on a resource displays all information present in
the Ariel RegAID database for the selected resource.
Comprised
of five regulatory databases (lists of lists), three regulatory
full-text modules, news on current and pending regulatory developments,
and guides to compliance, Ariel RegAID offers continuously updated
coverage of environmental, health and safety regulations in North
America, Western Europe, Asia Pacific.
Flexible
Data Output Options
RC
supplies several options for outputting regulatory information. MSDSs, labels, and reports
may be sent to a printer or fax, viewed on-screen, or converted to an ASCII file, or you
may choose to save your MSDS as an HTML "web-page" for distribution on your web
site. If you like, you may select to use the MSDSOnline indexing/hosting service for
MSDSs. This new service allows you to either post a link to MSDSs that you host on
your own web-site or to send your MSDSs to them to host and index on their site. In
either case, this service is performed at no charge to you. The RC
Module makes it
easy to automatically submit MSDSs using either chosen option.
Multiple Language Support
RC
supports multiple language translation. Multiple languages may be assigned to each
individual user. In addition, MSDSs and labels generated by ProductVision may be printed
in any character-based language you require.
Tracks MSDS Mailing History
RC
maintains a history of MSDS mailings to track compliance with hazardous communication
regulations. These mailing histories may be sorted by product or by customer for reference
purposes.
Software is Updated for Future Regulation Changes
ASD keeps abreast of
current and future regulations, including REACH and GHS (Global
Harmonization), and updates the software, if necessary, to help you
comply with these new regulations.
On-Line Documentation and Help
Extensive help and
on-line documentation are provided throughout ProductVision RC for
timely, one-touch assistance.
