ProductVision Data Transfer (DT) Module

The Data Transfer Module in ProductVision allows you to quickly set up data-driven "mappings" between outside applications, such as ERP and LIMMS systems, and ProductVision.  Once mapped, the information can be transferred to/from ProductVision in standard file formats.  Information imported into ProductVision through the data ports is validated using the same business rules applied when information is entered through the program, thus ensuring complete data integrity.

Overview

The Data Transfer options in ProductVision let you import and export several different types of data between ProductVision and outside systems, including resources, formulas, customer and vendor information, project information, and order entry shipments.  ProductVision’s data transfer functions are user-definable.  This allows you to tailor the data ports to your own systems and needs.

Program Allows Setup of an Unlimited Number of Transfer Formats

To facilitate transfer of information to multiple systems, you can create as many transfer mappings as necessary to perform all of your necessary integrations.  That is, you can create a formula export mapping to your ERP system, another to you LIMMS system, and a third to export information to Excel spreadsheets.  This capability has proven extremely valuable upon system startup when information from different legacy systems is compiled for creation of ProductVision resources and formulas.

Full Security Control is Maintained

Since the Data Transfer routines utilize the same “business logic” used when items are added normally, all security access rights and protections apply.  This ensures that only authorized personnel have access to create, edit, or export system information.  It also means that any additions or changes to information in the system are fully recorded in the audit file.
