Access to Documents is Security Controlled
The documents displayed in the utility are login protected, so you can
control who is able to access this information. This login is
“cookie-enabled” to speed access by frequent users, such as
customer-service personnel. The program also allows you to assign
security levels to users and documents, thus enabling you to easily control
access to different levels of information, such as confidential MSDSs,
full-disclosure MSDSs, product data sheets, etc. For additional
protection, you can even limit the number of documents that a user can
download at one time and the total number of documents that they are allowed
to download. New users may create a login for themselves with minimal
default capabilities without your interaction. The defaults are set by
the program administrator. The user may then request additional access
rights, which must be granted by the administrator.
Maintains a Log of All Documents Viewed or Downloaded
A transaction file is maintained which logs the user’s activity while
using the program, such as viewing and downloading specific documents. This
log file may be searched to determine the number of documents that have been
accessed, which documents have been accessed and which
documents have
been requested by the user.

Easy Searching and Retrieval
Documents may be searched for by Product Code or Name (and wildcards) and
limited to specific layouts (formats), languages (for
MSDSs). The program returns a listing of all documents which meets the
entered search criteria that the user has rights to view. The user may
then choose to view the documents individually or to add the documents to a
“shopping cart” for downloading. Multiple searches can be performed and
all documents in the “shopping cart” can be downloaded together in a single
ZIP file when the user “checks out”.
No User Client to Install
The Regulatory Distribution Utility is installed on your company’s web server
running Microsoft Internet Information Server
software. You control where documents
are published to and whether they are accessible inside the company,
outside the company, or both. The user simply needs access to the
company intranet (if they are a company employee), or the Internet (if
they are a customer) and a web-browser.
Utility May be Tailored by the User
The Regulatory Distribution Utility is designed to be linked to your existing
company intra or Internet site. The program allows you to easily
“brand” the screen with your own company name, logo, background and
“terms of use” without programming. User administration and program
tailoring options, such as security defaults, are available to system
administrators.
