ProductVision's seamlessly integrated Nutrition Label (NL) Module automatically creates food nutrition labels and ingredient declarations which comply with the current U.S. NLEA regulations as well as current and pending regulations for Canadian and European Union Labels.  This greatly reduces the time required to create the product labels and guarantees consistency with the recipe.

Includes Many Pre-Programmed Formats

The NL module includes most of the common label formats that you might need, including:

●  U.S. NLEA Multi-Language Vertical
●  U.S. NLEA Multi-Language Horizontal
●  U.S. NLEA Simplified
●  U.S. NLEA Infant
●  U.S. NLEA Toddler
●  U.S. NLEA Supplemental (nutraceuticals)
●  U.S. NLEA Dual Declaration
   (cereal/milk, mix/prepared)
●  Canadian Multi-Language Vertical
●  Canadian Multi-Language Horizontal
●  EU Group 1 Label
●  EU Group 2 Label

Automatic Nutrition Facts Calculation

The ingredient statements for your products may be calculated automatically from ingredient and recipe information in ProductVision, or entered directly by the user.

Entry of Special Label Descriptions and Groupings

NL allows you to enter a special nutrition label description for your ingredients if you prefer not to use the standard description. You can print "sugar" on your product label, even if you internally use "refined white sugar" as the description for this ingredient. You also have the capability to show an ingredient mixture or intermediate recipe parenthetically for nutrition label printing. For example, when Milk Chocolate appears in a product, you have the option to print "Milk Chocolate (milk, sugar, cocoa butter, eggs...)" on the label.

The Resource Grouping feature allows you to combine multiple ingredients under a single name, either showing or not showing the individual ingredient names.  That is, you can combine Canola Oil, Coconut Oil, and Corn Oil in a product to show either:

"Vegetable Oils", or

"Vegetable Oils (Canola Oil, Coconut Oils, and Corn Oil)"

This choice is made when setting up the grouping in ProductVision.

Ingredient Statement Example

Other Features

  • You may choose to identify allergens in the Ingredient Statement.  See the above example for the allergen "PEANUTS"
  • The system allows you to enter reconstitution ratios for dry ingredients so that the system can automatically use water in the recipe to reconstitute ingredients so that they report in the proper location in the ingredient declaration.
  • You may choose to add or subtract specific nutrients on a nutrition facts panel for claims maintenance or other purposes.
  • The system is fully-compliant with the recent Trans Fat regulations.
  • You may choose to identify Genetically Modified Ingredients (GMOs) as required by EU and EU country regulations.
  • You are allowed to modify ingredient descriptions for specific formulas as required by EU QUID regulations.
