There are many instances where you may need to merge a group of documents and/or images into a single “master” document, including:
- Sales Proposals which include costing spreadsheets
- Electronic Laboratory Notebooks
- Product Application Libraries
- Product Development Documents
- Product Information Files in the Cosmetics Industry in the EU
In these cases, it is common to have several disparate sources of information, such as Word®, Excel®, PDF documents, image files, PowerPoint® presentations, etc. that you need to combine into a single PDF document. The Book Module in ProductVision was created to perform this task for you.
A Book in ProductVision may be created from a pre-defined “Book Template” which defines both the order and generic contents of the finished book (PDF document). A typical book may include ProductVision reports, product technical data sheets and safety data sheets, testing results, project notes, and external documents attached to the product, ingredient, and/or project. The finished book may also include a cover sheet for the book, and for each chapter of the book and a table of contents. Creating a finished book is then as easy as selecting the appropriate format and generating the finished book. The book PDF may then be published for distribution or attached to an item as a separate document. And, of course, the entire process of creating and collating the source documents can be automated using the Workflow feature in ProductVision, further streamlining the chore. So, what may have once been a difficult task is now a Snap!
