From 2019 to 2020 the U.S. organic sector again reported growth in both food and non-food markets. The Organic Trade Association states, “The U.S. organic sector posted a banner year in 2019, with organic sales in the food and non-food markets totalling a record $55.1 billion, up a solid 5 percent from the previous year.” (https://ota.com/organic-market-overview/organic-industry-survey). Even with economic down turn and a pandemic, the organic sector thrives.

Successfully walking through the organic certification process for raw materials and finished products can be time consuming and tedious. ProductVision streamlines the process with the ability to track and query organic certifications, provides finished product organic % calculation, and denotes organic ingredients for ingredient declarations.
ProductVision’s powerful Properties allows users to track organic certification due dates with numeric date properties, if an organic certificate has been received with a logic true/false property, and organic calculation beginning with raw material organic % with string properties and rolls up to the finished product % with the product’s organic % via a formula calculated property. After the organic calculation is complete users can easily review which organic category the product falls into:
- 100% Organic – must be 100% organic ingredients and processing aids.
- Organic – must contain at least 95% organic ingredients.
- Made with organic – must contain at least 70% organic ingredients.
- Less than 70% organic ingredients – not eligible for organic certification but individual organic ingredients can be called out on the ingredient statement.
ProductVision’s Nutritional Labeling Module allows the user to identify the organic ingredients either by stating for example; ‘organic cinnamon’ or with an asterisk, ‘cinnamon*’.

With ProductVision, a tedious certification process becomes a breeze.
