The Document Management Module allows you to merge a group of documents and/or images into a single “master” Book document created as an Adobe PDF file. In the Personal Care and Cosmetics Industries, the Book Module makes it easy to create Product Information File documents which includes all necessary GMP, SDS, SOP, and testing requirements for the product. This module could also be used to create electronic Lab Notebooks including all Project, Formula, Testing and other information.

Designed for Maximum Flexibility
Books can be created for several different types of items including Formulas, Resources, Projects, and Trading Partners. A book is initially set up using guidance provided by a Book Template which specifies what documents, reports, images, and other items will be contained in the book. The template may be assigned to an item (Resource, Formula, Project, etc.) and then populated with the information requested by the Book Template, resulting in a finished book contained in a PDF file. The Book may include system reports, Documents, attachments (images or other documents), or other information found in the system.
Document Management Features
Much of the information detailed in a book is contained in documents stored either inside of the ProductVision database or externally. The Document Object in ProductVision allows attaching documents to multiple “parents”, adds document versioning and security, and metadata that can be queried.
